Background and Credentials

Nursing has been my lifelong passion. I had been caring for my patients as a caregiver, a nursing assistant, a licensed practical nurse, and a registered nurse for 15 years. Then I had my children and took a few years off nursing to raise them. I missed nursing and came back to it as soon as I could. I went back to nursing school as well and got my Bachelor's at the University of Illinois in 2020, then a Master’s in psychiatric and mental health nursing at Maryville University and got board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2024.

My approach to care is to take time and work on understanding my patient’s story, their needs and circumstances. That helps me develop personalized care strategy based on what works for a particular patient. I try to actively involve my patients in their care, help them understand what is going on with them and give them evidence-based options based on their specific challenges, goals, and preferences, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment.

In my spare time I spend time with my family on our farm and play with our German Shepherds, barn cats, and the mini goats.
